A Basic Outline

Hello, my friends. Today (when I write this) is Good Friday, 2020. As I was contemplating what Jesus went through and preparing to share tonight, I thought it would be a good idea to create a basic Gospel of the Kingdom resource. I know that this is by no means complete, but rather a very narrow outline. There is so much Jesus has redeemed us from. This is meant to be a basic outline to help the reader or sharer understand and help others understand the basics. We hope to put out many other resources that deal with different parts of the wonderful and inexhaustible Gospel! – Pastor Dustan

The Gospel of the Kingdom

A Basic Outline – By Pastor Dustan Stanley

God is The Creator of Everything

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

(Gen. 2:4–9; Job 38:4–11; John 1:1–5)

Man Was Made in the Image of God (A Spirit) and Given Authority Over the Earth

Genesis 1:27
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

John 4:24
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Mankind Chose to Disobey God

Genesis 3:1-7

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'”

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

Mankind’s Sin Brought Sin into the Whole World

Romans  5:12–21
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

When Adam Obeyed Sin/Satan He Became a Slave to Sin/Satan and Turned the World Over to Satan

Romans 6:16
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

1 John 5:19
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Sin = God’s Judgment = Eternal Death

Genesis 2:16
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But God Loves the Entire World, so He Sent His Son, Jesus, into the World as a Man

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Luke 19:10
for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus Lived a Sinless Life and Overcame Satan

Hebrews 4:14-15
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

2 Corinthians 5:21
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus Gave His Life on the Cross Freely

John 10:17-18

For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”

Jesus Bore Our Sins (not His Own) on the Cross

1 Peter 2:21
For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Isaiah 53:5
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

Jesus, who was Innocent Paid Your Price for Sin. He Ransomed Us from Death and Sin

Matthew 20:28
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

1 Timothy 2:5-6
For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.

Jesus Overcame Sin as Man and Took Back the Authority Adam Lost

Matthew 28:18
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

Colossians 2:13-15
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus Created a New Blood Covenant as the Perfect Passover Lamb. He Did This for Us!

Hebrews 10:11-12
Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

But God Raised Jesus from the Dead in Three Days

1 Corinthians 15:3-8
I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said: He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him.

John 20:11
Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in. She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.” “Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”) “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Jesus Ascended and Sat Down at God’s Right Hand

Hebrews 10:12-13
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Mark 16:19
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

Jesus, with all AUthority, is Returning as King of Heaven and Earth and Judge! An Eternal Kingdom

Isaiah 9:6-7
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Revelation 11:15
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!’

Revelation 19:12-16
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew 25:31-32
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

If You Surrender Your Life to Jesus, Believe the Gospel, You will Be Saved and Welcomed to His Eternal, Sinless, and Perfect Kingdom.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-11
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Revelation 21:3-5
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

So What Should I Do?

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Acts 2:37-39
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

  1. Admit You are a Sinner and Realize You Can’t Save Yourself
  2. Believe that Jesus Died and Was Resurrected for Your Sake
  3. Repent of Your Old Life and Openly CONFESS and Jesus Your Lord
  4. The Holy Spirit will Come into Your and Make You brand new, Born Again!

John 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

To help you, I’ve included a model prayer. Please make this your own. In essence, this is a prayer of turning away from sin and dedicating yourself fully to Jesus for the rest of your life.

God, I know I am a sinner. I’ve done so many things wrong, and I can never undo the things I’ve done. I know I am guilty. I ask you for mercy. I believe Jesus came and lived a sinless life. I believe He gave His life so I can be forgiven and welcomed into your family. I believe in Him. I believe you raised Jesus from the dead. I repent from my old life. I turn away from my old way of living. I also turn away from trusting in my own goodness. I trust in your goodness and mercy shown to me through Jesus. I give myself fully to serve Jesus. Please, send your Holy Spirit and make me new inside. Please make me born again. The old me is dead from today on and I will follow and serve Jesus for the rest of my life, no matter what that cost. I commit myself to your eternal Kingdom. I pray these things to you in the name of my King, my Lord (master) and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
